A 42 dias da Olimpíada, laboratório antidoping do Rio é descredenciado

Os organizadores dos Jogos Olímpicos do Rio têm um enorme problema para resolver a 42 dias da abertura da Olimpíada. Nesta sexta-feira, a Agência Mundial Antidoping (Wada, na sigla em inglês) anunciou o imediato descredenciamento do Laboratório Brasileiro de Controle de Dopagem (LBCD), antigo Ladetec, que deveria ser responsável pela realização dos exames antidoping colhidos durante a Olimpíada.

De acordo com a Wada, o LBCD foi descredenciado na última quarta-feira e proibido de conduzir novos testes de urina ou sangue diante do que a Wada qualifica como "erros procedimentais".

"Vamos tentar resolver os problemas identificados", declarou Olivier Niggli, diretor-geral. Enquanto isso, as amostras serão transportadas para outros laboratórios e ficarão sob a custódia da Wada. "Isso vai garantir que não tenhamos problemas nos processos de análise e que a integridade das amostras seja garantida", disse.

Um Comitê de Disciplina será criado e vai reavaliar o caso. Mas, segundo a Wada, a suspensão tem efeito "imediato" e pode durar até seis meses. De acordo com a agência, todas as federações nacionais e autoridades locais já foram notificadas.
